Glossary
Registrar: A registrar is a company
that registers domain names such as WEBCC.
Losing Registrar: The losing registrar
is the current registrar of your domain
that you wish to transfer away. If a domain
is currently registered with Network Solutions
and you are transferring it to WEBCC, Network
Solutions is the losing registrar.
Registrant: The registrant is the
owner of a particular domain name.

What is domain transfer?
Domain Transfer is a process to transfer
/ change your domain registration from your
existing Registrar to another new Registrar.
Currently, our system support for all domain
extension excepts for .hk and .tw domains.

How do I do the domain
transfer?
You may use Transfer function at Quick start
Registration tool in Partner Central (www.webnic.cc)
to initiate your transfer, as per steps
below:
A) .com/.net/IDN/.cc:
- Select " Transfer" button beside .com/.net/IDN
category
- Key-in the domain name that you would
like to transfer (Kindly read through
the Important Domain Transfer information
before your submission).
- Check the domain name again to ensure
the domain name is correct and then
click "submit"
- Click on "Create Account" under new
customer or fill in existing user id
and password and then click on "submit
domain transfer" button to complete
your submission.
B) .org/.biz/.info/.name/.cn/.us :
- Select " Transfer" button beside .org/.biz/.info/.cn/.us
category;
- Key-in the domain name that you would
like to transfer together with the Authorisation
Info(Kindly read through the Important
Domain Transfer information before your
submission). In the event that you do
not have the Authorization Info, please
contact your current sponsoring Registrar
to request the domain's <AUTHINFO>
or Authorization Info, which we will
need in order to initiate the transfer
process for your domain.
- Check the domain name again to ensure
the domain name is correct and then
click "submit"
Click on "Create Account" under new customer
or fill in existing user id and password
and then click on "submit domain transfer"
button to complete your submission.

Is EPP domain transfer similar to
.com/.net transfer?
There is a slight different for the process.
For EPP domain [.org, .biz, .info, .name,
.cn and .us]. transfer, you will need your
Authorization Info to initiate the EPP transfer.
Authorization Info can be obtained from your
existing Registrar.

What is <AUTHINFO>, <AUTH>,
or Authorisation Info?
An <AUTHINFO>, <AUTH>,
or authorization info is a 6- to 16-character
"password" assigned by a sponsoring Registrar.
It identifies your domain name in Registry.
No EPP domain name transfer request can
be successfully executed without it.
You will have to contact your current sponsoring
Registrar to request for the domain's or Authorization
Info. Registrants are advised to keep their
authorization Info confidential to avoid unauthorized
transfers of domain names.

How is the Whole Registrar transfer
process?
- Submit transfer request via Quick Start
tool at Webnic Partner Central/your Private
Label. (Kindly read through the Important
Domain Transfer information before your
submission)
- System will send an authorize email
to Registrant Administrative e-mail address
for confirmation of transfer.
- Registrant has to read the email and
act accordingly based on the instruction
in the email with 5 days.
- After Registrant approved the transfer
request, it will takes another 2 to 10
business days to process the transfer.
- (Optional step, depend on Registrar)
Losing registrar will re-confirm with
registrant on the transfer. (Registrant
is advice to read the e-mail carefully
and act accordingly.)
- (Optional step, depend on Registrar)
Registrant reply to losing Registrar mail.
- Upon domain transfer process complete,
we will inform Registrant and partner
on the transfer result (reject or successful).

How much does it cost
to transfer a domain name?
There are no hidden costs to transfer a
domain name. All you need to pay is the
renewal duration that will be added to the
current expiration date for the domain name.

How long does it normally
take to transfer a domain name?
It normally takes 2 -10 business days to
successfully transfer a domain to our servers.
If requestor requested a transfer of a domain
more than ten (10) business days ago and
haven't heard anything back, please contact
us for assistance.

If I transfer a domain
name to new Registrar, how long is the domain
validity?
The extend one year term will in addition
to any time that currently have remaining
on the domain. However, maximum term for
a domain name is ten (10) years only.
For example, if a domain name will expires
in eight months, and you renew with us
for one year, the domain name would expire
in one year and eight months. Registrant
doesn't lose any money on his/her original
registration!

Does this mean that
Registrant transferring ownership of the
domain?
Absolutely not! When you transfer a domain,
the only changes to the domain are the Registrar
and not others. Registrant is still the
owner of the domain, and retains full administrative
control at all times.

Do I need to wait until
the renewal date is closer?
No. You can transfer/renew at any time and
all of the existing time with the current
registrar will be transferred over with
the domain name. In fact, we would advise
you to assist you customer transfer a domain
to us at least 2 weeks prior to expiry,
to avoid any unnecessary delay and take
the risk of losing it.

What problems could
delay or prevent the transfer of a domain?
If the e-mail address of the current administrative
contact for the domain is invalid, registrant
won't receive the confirmation e-mail and
won't be able to confirm the transfer.
The losing registrar can deny a transfer
for several reasons:
- Evidence of fraud;
- UDRP Action
- Count order by court of competent
jurisdiction
- Reasonable dispute over the identity
of the Registrant or Administrative
Contact
- No payment for previous registration
period (including credit card charge-backs)
if the domain name is past its expiration
date or for previous or current registration
periods if the domain name has not yet
expired.
- Express written objection to the transfer
from the Transfer contact.
- A domain name was already in “Lock”
status.
- A domain name is in the first 60 days
of an initial registration period.
A domain name is within 60 days after being
transferred.

What happens if a domain
name is transferred within the 45-calendar
day after the renewal date?
If a domain is transferred within the 45-calendar
day after the renewal date, then the renewal
year added by Losing Registrar is dropped.
The Gaining Registrar will adds one year
to the domain name's expiration date.

Will transferring a
domain cause any downtime?
No. Changing the registrar entry for a domain
on the root servers is immediate.

Can I transfer multiple
domains at once?
Yes. Batch Transfers allowed.

Do you refund to me if the transfer
is not successful?
Yes. If the transfer is not successful, the
funds will be returned back to your account
immediately.

How do I transfer my domain name
to other Registrar?
We'd rather not see you go, but
if you would like to transfer your domain
name from WebNIC.cc to another Registrar,
you will have to contact the other Registrar
to begin the transfer process. We are unable
to initiate this process for you.
If you do choose to switch to another Registrar,
please be aware that any free services the
domain is using such as URL Forwarding,
Email Forwarding, Sub-domain management
and DNS hosting -- will be terminated upon
successful completion of the transfer away.
We are not accountable for disruptions to
service caused by a Registrar transfer.

How do I request my
<AUTHINFO>, <AUTH>, or authorization
code needed to transfer a .org/.biz/.info/.name/.cn/.us
domain name from WebNIC.cc to another registrar?
In the event that WebNIC.cc is your domain's
current sponsoring registrar, you may send
the <AUTHINFO>, <AUTH>, or authorization
code to registrant administrative contact
by login to Web Address Manager, Partner
Central. Steps as follows:
- select the domain name
- Click on "Retrieve Authorization Information"
link.
